Indy′s Story

My name is Indy, and my story starts with heartbreak. I remember the day so clearly—my family put on my leash, and we got into the car. I was so excited, my tail wagging like crazy. We drove for a while until the car stopped on a dirt road surrounded by fields and farms.

When we got out, I spotted a big gate and heard dogs barking. I thought, *Wow, we’re at a dog park! This is going to be fun!* They let me off the leash, and I pranced around happily while they stood by the gate , they were trying to leave me outside of the shelter. They must have seen the cameras on the gate and panicked.

They quickly put me back in the car, and we drove away. I didn’t understand what was happening. Soon, they stopped again, not far from where we had been before. They opened the door, and I jumped out, ready for the next adventure. I sniffed around, exploring the field next to the road, but when I looked up… they were gone. They had driven away, leaving me there all alone.

I stood there, frozen and confused, not knowing what to do. Minutes felt like hours, and then, out of nowhere, a car screeched to a halt. A kind lady jumped out, panicked, and scooped me off the road just as a huge truck sped past, missing us by inches. Her arms were shaking, but they felt safe. That’s when I knew my life had changed forever.

Character & Temperament

I’m very focused on my humans and absolutely love getting attention and cuddles! Because of my past abandonment, I have some insecurities and really crave being around people all the time.

Ideal Home for Indy

My ideal home is one where my humans can cuddle with me on the couch for most of the day. I'm a bit selective about my dog friends; I usually get along well with small dogs. I'm also good with cats that understand dogs, but ideally, I would love to have all the attention from my humans focused on me!
